Web templates available to ensure compliance with campus standards

From: http://www.ncsa.uiuc.edu/News/HN/07HN/0328.html#NewNCSA

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has instituted new graphic standards to ensure that all campus units communicate a consistent, coordinated identity.

If you maintain a website, this means that:

  • The Illinois mark and the text "University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign" must appear prominently on your homepage.
  • The text "University of Illinois" or "University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign" must be included in the title field of your home page after your unit's name (NCSA's title tag, for example, is <title>National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign</title>).
  • Your site must use the campus favorites icon.
  • New second- and subsequent-level pages must include the Illinois mark and the text "University of Illinois" or "U of I" at the end of the content in the title field. There is no need to update existing second- and subsequent-level pages.

To help bring your website into compliance by the deadline (June 1, 2007), you can use either the standard NCSA template or a new, slimmer template that has been created by NCSA Public Affairs. If the new mini-nav is implemented correctly, your site should look like the example.

For full instructions on how to implement the new mini-nav on your site, go to https://internal.ncsa.uiuc.edu/comm/minibars/. If you have questions about the graphic standards of the NCSA templates, please contact NCSA Public Affairs.
